There are many benefits of serving as a volunteer leader, including:
in being considered as a candidate for the 2019-2020 Massachusetts Foot & Ankle Society (MFAS) Board of Trustees and Committees.
Playing a significant role in advancing the profession of Podiatry;
- Having an opportunity to enhance the value of MFAS and the Podiatry profession to the medical community;
- Accessing up-to-date information about the challenges facing the profession; and
- Exchanging ideas and perspectives with a diverse group of volunteer leaders.
MFAS values and seeks diverse leadership. It seeks leaders from all
types and sizes of podiatry practices. Candidates should possess
positive leadership attributes, emotional intelligence, ability to work
collaboratively and engage in appropriate debate and discussion when
needed, and visionary and strategic drive.
Board Candidates must be able to
make a commitment to participate in six board meetings a year. At
present, the board meets on Tuesday evenings, twice a year via video conference call and four times a year over dinner in a greater Waltham location.
Committees primarily meet via conference call or video conference.
